Simonidy was an active artist in France and painted historical subjects, genre scenes, female nudes, figures, portraits and landscapes. He was also one of the pupils of Leon Bonnat, Ferdinand Humbert and Gabriel Ferrier and in 1901 he won the medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris. Lacquered and carved wooden frame, 81 x 100 cm.
