of fine pictorial realization and happy chromatic contrast. The painter, who moved to Rome, took an active part in the artistic life of the city and in 1843 he joined the Association of Amateurs and Cultors. He is mainly dedicated to the production of copies by ancient and contemporary masters. The painting in question is in fact a copy of a painting by Sassoferrato. He successfully treated portraiture and genre painting, with the characteristic of a strong interest in the female figure, in particular for maternal groups. Gilded wood frame, 50.5 x 62.5 cm.
