Serra came to Naples from Barcelona in 1877, where he lived before moving to Rome where he was elected a member of the Academy of San Luca. In his art the spirituality of the Spanish school and the coloristic sensitivity of the Neapolitan one are merged. In a short time he acquired a reputation as a talented man in the historical, religious, symbolic, genre and, lastly, landscape. Ebonized wood frame, 60 x 81 cm.
