(Utrecht, 1636 - Amsterdam, 1695)

attributable to the Flemish painter who specialized particularly in paintings of animals and especially birds, highlighting a strong realism and colorism that made him a first-rate artist of his kind, so much so as to exert an enormous influence in the painting of still lifes of animals from the late 17th and 18th centuries. Vintage frame in lacquered wood and decorated with imitation marble, 49.5 x 40 cm.
