The Neapolitan painter attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and in his private life he attended painting courses at Vincenzo Petrocelli's atelier. In the years ranging from 1862 to 1887 he assiduously participated in the exhibitions of the promoter "Salvator Rosa". He dealt with historical subjects and genre scenes often using a pictorial dress centered on quick and quick touches, almost always managing to obtain an excellent consent from the critics and a good success with the public.
