Vincenzo Caprile

(Napoli, 1856 - 1936)

oil painting on wood, a fine example of the Posillipo School. Caprile attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples as Michetti, Dalbono, Pratella and Irolli. He excelled in all techniques, oil, tempera, mixed technique and pastel, with a strong expressiveness and a remarkable pictorial quality. Neapolitan "glove box" frame in gilded and carved wood. Measure cm. 25 x 56.
